Chili Cook-off
Get ready to spice things up! 🌶️ The Windflowers Annual Chili Cook-Off is coming on Wednesday, November 11, 2026, and we’re excited to bring everyone together for a fun evening of chili, good food, neighbors and friendly competition! Your ticket includes:
Tasting chili from 12 contestants
A variety of side dishes that will be shared
Iced tea, lemonade and assorted non-alcoholic beverages
Fritos and condiments
Everyone attending is asked to bring one side dish to share. Choose whatever you’d like — a salad, side dish, cornbread or dessert.
$15 per person

Ikebana Demonstration
Discover the beauty of Ikebana! The traditional Japanese art of flower arranging…less is more. Watch a live demo and learn how this traditional Japanese art uses simplicity, balance and natural materials to create beautiful arrangements. Learn from one of our neighbors, Cindy Livingston, the history and Philosophy of Ikebana, along with tips you can use with flowers and branches from your own garden. This event is free and open to all residents in collaboration with Windflowers and the Art Committee.
Iris and Perennial Exchange and Garden Cleanup
Join us for a presentation by Douglas County CSU Extension Master Gardener, Robert Sanchez with tips for preparing your garden for Winter plus an Iris & Perennial Plant Swap. Bring 3-5 plants, take 3-5 plants or just come for the presentation. Coffee, Tea and Treats will be Served. This event is free and open to all residents.

An informal gathering for coffee and conversation. No need to sign up. Just show up.
Member Luncheon/Business Mtg
Angelo’s Taverna in Littleton. $40 per person includes a charcuterie board starter with a buffet lunch that includes salads, entrees and dessert. Also includes a welcome glass of wine as well as tax and gratuity. A Cash bar is also available. Members check your inbox after August 1st for an invitation and more details.
Lankow Historical Iris Collection @ Chatfield Farms
Member Event. Join us as we take a field trip to view the over 400 different varieties of Iris plants with the oldest varieties dating back to 1597. Free for those who carpool. Carpool from the Community Center at 9:30 am with lunch at The Lake House Kitchen and Tavern after.
Rocks & Ridges - A Geological Presentation w/ Amy Sullivan
Everyone has a great view in Roxborough Park. Here and in Rox State Park - Magic is all around. Would you like to know why? Bring your imagination! What do you see out your window? Bring a photo. Join us to learn about the Geology of our neighborhood.
Community Gardens Start Date
Spring has sprung and there’s no time like the “Merry Month of May’ to beautify Roxborough Park by cleaning up and planting our community gardens and berms between the entry and the first mailbox pod. The Windflowers Garden Committee encourages Roxborough residents to work with us to prepare, plant, and maintain the gardens this spring and summer. Many hands working in our community gardens make light work PLUS this is a great opportunity to meet neighbors and learn ways to deal with the challenges of gardening with the clay soil, wind, turkeys, and deer! No prior experience is required! Whether you’re a seasoned green thumb or just starting to sprout your gardening skills, this is the perfect opportunity to come together, share tips, and sow the seeds of community spirit.
Member Potluck
Join us for mimosas, friendship and fabulous food. Bring a favorite brunch dish to share along with a recipe for our cookbook. We will also be collecting books for BookDrive so if you have any gently used books looking for a new home please bring them.

Weed Warrior Talk
We will kick off the season with a lecture by Dr. Sue Donaldson on April 16th, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM (including an intermission) at the Community Center. Dr. Donaldson will discuss identifying and mitigating noxious weeds throughout the neighborhood. She is a wonderful speaker, and we encourage everyone to attend to learn how to manage weeds in their own yards and the community. While the field program officially begins in May, now is a great time to start digging weed rosettes before they grow larger.
Community Cleanup
Meet up at the Community Center at 9a
Please wear sturdy shoes and bring sunscreen, a hat and gloves if you have them. We will have water, trash bags, and nitril gloves.

Spring Fling Patio Planter Demo
Learn how to bring your planters to life with an easy step-by-step demo and workshop that will make your patio planters pop! Enjoy coffee, tea, muffins, and community. No gardening experience needed! Gardening beginners welcome! This is a free event but please rsvp so that we know how many people to expect.
